How to play

  1. Choose an actor. They hold the phone or tablet so only they can read the prompt. Everyone else guesses aloud.
  2. Start the 45-second round and act out the scene. No speaking, sounds or reading the words aloud.
  3. Tap Got it! when someone guesses correctly. Tap Skip whenever a prompt is not working. Both buttons move to the next prompt.
  4. The round ends when the timer reaches zero. Check the number of correct guesses, swap actors and start again.

Funny prompts without the preparation

The sample uses imaginative everyday scenes, rather than asking everyone to know the same films. You might mime walking a powerful dog, taking a selfie on a rollercoaster or carrying too many shopping bags.

Keep the device in the actor’s hands. A shared TV would show the answer to the guessers, so it is not the right setup for this game. Make a little room for gestures, but keep the acting comfortable for the space you have.

Make room for different comfort levels

Let an enthusiastic volunteer go first. A guest who would rather guess can stay on the guessing side; nobody needs to perform to take part. Use Skip freely, and pause the timer if you need a break or an explanation.

With two people, take turns acting and guessing. In a larger circle, keep turns short and give different people a chance to act. You can compare round scores informally; the demo does not manage teams or a leaderboard.

Good to know

Can just two people play?

Yes. One person acts and the other guesses. Swap roles after each turn.

Can we pause the timer?

Yes. Use Pause timer and Resume timer during a round.

Does it need a TV?

No. Only the actor should see the prompt, so a handheld phone or tablet is the better choice.

Good company. Zero planning.
